SURABAYA, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, MONDAY, 18 NOVEMBER 2024 – The opening ceremony of Exercise HELANG LAUT 21B/2024 was officiated today by Kapten (N) Rafael Dwinatu Anggono, Commander of Escort Squadron, Second Fleet of the Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut TNI-AL). The ceremony, held at the Auditorium of Pusat Latihan Kapal Perang Building, Komando Armada II, marked the beginning of the joint exercise between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and TNI-AL. In his opening address, Kapten (N) Rafael Dwinatu emphasized the importance of this exercise in enhancing military readiness and strengthening diplomatic ties between Brunei and Indonesia, contributing significantly to regional stability.

MUARA NAVAL BASE, TUESDAY, 12 NOVEMBER 2024 – KDB DARULAMAN and KDB SYAFAAT set sail for a 17-day deployment from Muara Naval Base to Dermaga Jamrud, Surabaya, Indonesia, for the upcoming bilateral EXERCISE HELANG LAUT 21B/2024 with the Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut / TNI-AL). The exercise is scheduled to take place from 17th to 23rd November 2024.

MUARA NAVAL BASE, Wednesday, 6 November 2024 - The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a farewell ceremony to mark the retirement of Warrant Officer 1 (WO1) Rosleen bin Hj Tujoh, the Force Sergeant Major of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). The ceremony took place at Aman Samudera Hall, Royal Brunei Navy Base.

Bandar Seri Begawan, Friday, 1 November 2024 – This year marks the first decade of active service for KDB DARUTTAQWA in the Royal Brunei Navy Fleet. To commemorate her 10th anniversary, KDB DARUTTAQWA's officers and sailors organized a celebratory dinner at Higher Café, Higher Hotel, attended by former Commanding Officers, officers, and sailors who have served on the ship. KDB DARUTTAQWA is the fourth ship of the DARUSSALAM class and was commissioned on 8 September 2014 by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam and General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

MUARA, Thursday, 31 October 2024 - The Marine and Weapon Mechanic Intermediate M2 Course began on Friday, February 9, 2024, and the Basic General Mechanic M3 Course 147/2024 started on Friday, April 19, 2024. Both courses concluded on Thursday, October 31, 2024. A total of 42 participants successfully completed the courses, with 26 from the M2 course and 16 from the M3 course.

​MUARA, Wednesday, 30 October 2024 — The Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law is a German initiative that operates under the umbrella of the Max Planck Society, one of the most prestigious research organizations in Germany. The Max Planck Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-hosted the workshop titled “Implementing Agreements Under the UNCLOS” and was privileged to visit the Royal Brunei Navy. Participants included representatives from ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste.

MUARA, Tuesday, 29 October 2024—The closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the Chief Radio Supervisor and Intermediate Marine Signaller courses 2024 were held at Nakhoda Ragam Hall, Naval Training Centre. PENANJONG GARISSON, Thursday, 17 October 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) marked another milestone in the annual Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF)  Half Marathon Championship and 10km Race 2024 held at the Mini Stadium, Penanjong Garrison. Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, the Commander of the RBAF. Also in attendance were Services Commanders, Acting Service Commander, Acting Joint Force Commander, Senior Officers, RBAF officers and personnel.

Muara Commercial Port, Saturday, 5th October 2024 - a joint delegation from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) team and the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) 1st Wing and 3rd Wing personnel, visited the USS Savannah at Muara Commercial Port yesterday. The visit involved an exchange of expertise on various naval and aerial operations as well as a guided tour of the USS Savannah, an Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), known for its agility and capability to operate in both near-shore and open-ocean environments.

SALAYA, THAILAND, FRIDAY, 20 SEPTEMBER 2024 - Lt Cdr Mohd Amiel Azim bin Hj Afflon of the Royal Brunei Navy has successfully completed the 84th Naval Command and Staff Course (NCSC) conducted by the Royal Thai Navy. Spanning 18 months, the course included a mandatory 6-month Thai language training program for international officers and a 12-month NCSC, aimed at preparing officers for command and staff roles.

Muara Naval Base, Thursday, September 05, 2024 – "A day of exploration, music and career discovery" The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) hosted an educational visit from Peachtree Playhouse, welcoming 80 students, teachers, and parents to explore RBN facilities. The group was greeted by the Naval Training Centre and enjoyed a performance by the Royal Brunei Navy Band, with opportunities to play instruments like the 'gulintangan' and conduct the band. The visit featured interactive displays of Navy assets and equipment. The day concluded with a group photo outside the RBN patrol vessel KDB DARULAMAN.​
